Christian Eckes Flying CRAFTSMAN® Colors in Return to NASCAR Truck Series with Kyle Busch Motorsports at Martinsville
Mooresville, North Carolina (October 25, 2018) – Two weeks after winning his third-career race in the ARCA Racing Series presented Menards, Christian Eckes is set to return to the pilot’s seat of Kyle Busch Motorsports’ (KBM) No.46 CRAFTSMAN® Tundra for Saturday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series’ (NCWTS) Texas Roadhouse 200 at Martinsville Speedway.
This weekend’s Martinsville race marks Eckes’ third career NCWTS start since signing a four race deal with KBM back in April. During his first two series starts the 17-year old driver quickly showed off his young talent with impressive back-to-back outings behind the wheel. The New York native started ninth, led four laps and finished eighth in a successful Truck Series debut in June at Iowa Speedway. He backed up that performance leading 34-laps and winning the second stage during his last start at Gateway Motorsports Park.
“I’m super excited to reunite with my guys at Kyle Busch Motorsports and get back in the truck this weekend at Martinsville,” said the New York state native. It’s been a long time waiting since my last one at Gateway. We’ve had a lot of success racing in both series so far – I’m feeling good about keeping that momentum going. It’s also really exciting to bring on CRAFTSMAN® as primary sponsor on my Toyota Tundra. When i first started racing I remember my first tool set I ever got was CRAFTSMAN®- so it’s pretty cool to see it come full circle. Hopefully we can get them in Victory Lane this weekend at Martinsville!”
Cody Glick returns as crew chief and will lead the way for Eckes who’s making his first ever appearance at the famed half-mile Virginia short track. After Martinsville, the rookie will make his final start of 2018 in the No. 46 Mobil 1 Tundra Nov. 8 at ISM Raceway in Avondale, Ariz.
The Texas Roadhouse 200 at Martinsville is scheduled for Saturday, October 28 and will air LIVE on FOX Sports 1 (FS1), MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR 90 starting at 1:30 p.m. ET.
